Why it matters

What mastery looks like
- Shows satisfaction or seeks acknowledgment when completing a task or solving a problem.
- Shares own ideas or beliefs in a group or with others, with or without prompting.
- Uses positive words to describe self, such as "kind" or "hard worker".
How to observe it
- When the child finishes something hard, do they show pride or want it noticed?
- In group time, does the child offer their own ideas?
- Can the child name something they are good at or proud of?
